POSTING ANNOUNCEMENT!

I want to give y’all a heads up that we are going to take a short, one week break. We only took a single day off between Chapters 2 and 3, and these last several scenes have been very intense art-wise, and so our usual buffer of pages has taken a big hit. For the health and sanity of my art team, we need to build that buffer of pages back up so I’ve decided that starting tonight, we will take a full week off from posting, so we will be skipping two updates.

That means that we are not posting a Preview Page with tonight’s update. The next Preview Page will be posted on Saturday, June 20th, and the next colored page (along with the next preview page) will be posted on Wednesday, June 24th.

I know it’s unusual for me to take any break, especially in the middle of a chapter, but these are unusual times, this is an especially ambitious chapter (lots of very fun stuff ahead!), and for the health and well-being of everyone on my team, this is the right thing to do. And once we’ve done it, we’ll be a great position to keep delivering the kick-ass pages you’re used to without interruption through the end of Chapter 3.

Please let me know if you have any questions. 🙂

NEW PATRON THANK YOUS

The only reason I’m able to keep making The Young Protectors is because of the very generous support of readers like you on Patreon. Especially now. And even though there were those who needed to step back from their support last month, we continue to have a bunch of new folks stepping up right now, with 6 new Patrons joining the Woolfpack over the last week! Superheroes rushing in to save the day!

So, please join me in sending out a very special thank you and welcome to the new members of the Woolfpack this week!

RedHexmaster, Ryan M., Alexander O., Derek R., Devyn R. and John S.

Thank you so much for your amazing support, RedHexmaster, Ryan, Alexander, Derek, Devyn and John!

And let’s also please thank a totally awesome reader who was already a Patron, but who upped their pledge this week:

William C.

(Thank you so much, Bill!)

Thank you all so much for your amazing support! You and the other members of the Woolfpack are all the real superheroes of this comic!

So!

So! Spooky was able to find Ambrosia—and it looks like she’s in big trouble! How did she wind up at the bottom of a cliff in chains? Who put her there? What are our heroes going to do to try to save her? And how much time does she have before the tide completely covers her?

Tune in on Saturday, June 20th to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  1. This is more fun than I’ve had in three days.
    Great plot twist.

  2. Thanks for the update, Alex. I totally get the need and space to breathe and recharge, especially with so much going on. It’s important. Better the readership exercise a little patience and have the quality of the work maintained by happy artists and creators. We’ll be here!

    Take your time, folks.

Maybe I’m still stuck in Greek myth mode, but I can’t help but wonder if a Kraken (or, at least the monster Cetus) will show up.

I dunno if Spooky can pull off a Petrficus Totalis spell, but Mitch is a much cuter ride than Pegasus.

  4. We’ll wait! Enjoy a well-earned break!

And I see a very suspicious collection of candles out there; I’ll bet she’s a sacrifice. (So I guess if she gets rescued it’ll hurt the spell? That could be useful.) Or bait. So, two reasons to save her and one to not save her. OK, that’s a tough choice!

  5. I can’t wait to see the colors of this page. It’s spectacular in line B&W and that raises my anticipation of tonight’s post.

  6. Avatar for Klaus Klaus says:

Are we sure her name is Ambrosia? Could it be Andromeda?

  7. That escalated quickly. But no problem! Just your standard D.I.D., right guys? …Guys?

  8. Anyone have any idea why the candles are there?

  9. Avatar for Nate Nate says:

    Poseidon wanted a romantic dinner?

  10. Thank you, Dave. Glad to throw a little fun your way.

Thank you for understanding, Adam. We’re making good use of this time rebuilding our buffer. It should make the next updates a lot less stressful.

In a Spooky Jones adventure? I certainly wouldn’t rule out that possibility!

Thank you, Theadora! Your understanding is much appreciated.

We get Spooky’s thoughts on that in the most current preview page…

Indeed! Which one would you recommend to our heroes?

These are still just work-in-progress colors that have replaced that black and white preview page you saw. But hopefully you’re enjoying them!

    Ha! Fair point.

Spooky answers this question on the very next page. (But I like Nate’s answer.)
