Oh, jeez!

It’s my great pleasure to send out another, very special Woolfpack anniversary “thank you!” to the real superheroes of this comic who have been supporting our work month after month!

First let me thank pack members who have been supporting our work for the last 12 months as of this week (May 19-25):

LarryP and Kaitlyn S.

(You totally rock, Larry and Kaitlyn!)

I’d also like to send out a big thank you to a member of the Woolfpack who has been supporting our work for 24 months of this week (May 19-25):

Zachary

(Two years of support! Thank you so much, Zachary!)

And a heroic thank you as well as for a Woolfpack member who has been supporting our work for 36 months of this week (May 19-25):

Emilio P.

(Three years of support! Thank you so much, Emilio!)

And, finally, let me send out my biggest howl to those members of the Woolfpack who have been supporting this comic and our work from the very beginning!

Here are all the awesome readers who have been supporting me and this comic for 48 months (4 years!) as of this week (May 19-25):

Nicole A., Neil C., Denys H., Jaysen H., Kurt H., E K., Steve K., David L., Jeremy P., Cj R., Jeff V., and Kim Z.

Thank you so much, Nicole, Neil, Denys, Jaysen, Kurt, E, Steve, David, Jeremy, Cj, Jeff and Kim! Y’all are so awesome!

Thank you all so much for your amazing, ongoing support! It’s the consistent support that is what really allows me to continue making this comic. You all truly are superheroes!

So! I was super-tempted to have Spooky cry out “YAAAAAAAA!” while he was running into the woods with that big mallet, but I was able to contain myself. The real question is: will Cory be able to contain that evil magic user and save Flyboy’s life?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

  1. Interesting. Spooky can mimic Green Lantern tricks to some extent. That’s handy – literally on this page. I’m always glad to see magic used for more than zap-zap effects. We should probably start a topic in Alex’s Comics section about magic itself, what types there are, what general effects are possible, known users, known artifacts, and so on.

Hm. General effects we’re seen so far include:

    • portals (including interdimensional ones)
    • summoning
    • invisibility
    • power blasts
    • energy constructs
    • de-age-ing
    • healing
    • mentalism? (I’m citing whatever Verloc used to get into Spooky’s mind and PP’s ability to overhear Commander’s telepathy.)
    • soul transference/transposition? (Whatever Spooky did with the kids in the glass box.)
    • magic detection

Have I missed anything obvious like flight or illusion?

  2. Something must be wrong with me this morning. I’m not asking for speculation - (don’t even think about answering that) - I’m just prefacing the rest of the comment so y’all will know what to think when I say the rest…
Why, why, why, when others look and see a little girl with an endearing, thankful look, do I see a back-stabbing little betrayer with evil intentions?
Something has me way off this morning to have thoughts as cruel as that. Errant spells? Constipation? Maybe I watched too much political news? Had a few bad dreams? That breakfast of two-day old leftover pizza isn’t sitting well?
Why do I look at that face and see insincerity? What sort of evil conspiracy would that be? Do I badly need a tin-foil hat today?
Like isn’t really, really hard to kidnap all those children and not have authorities screaming in Amber Alerts and running around looking? Is this place that remote?

  3. Green Lantern is definitely a character I keep in mind when Spooky is using his “ectoplasmic manipulation” power. He’s the closest thing to GL in my universe in terms of his power set.

That sounds awesome! I would love that! Very cool to read the list you added in your post.

I’m not sure. Luckily for you and that little girl, I don’t do plot twists in my comics.

From the nearest town? Not really. But it is very, very far away from where those children were taken from their beds.

  4. I was hoping that I was wrong.
